The official season of chicken breeding is drawing to a close, and I am pleased to report there are a few potential champions beginning to shape up. After all the hard work selecting birds to breed from, ensuring they are fed quality pellets, making sure they are happy and healthy, incubating eggs and now seeing the chicks on the ground, I had the conundrum of working out where to house all these youngsters!
Breanna is a 22 year old poultry enthusiast from Beechworth, Victoria and is currently studying Veterinary Science. For most of the year, I live in Wagga Wagga where I attend Charles Sturt University. I make regular trips home to Beechworth on weekends to care for my poultry.
I live in a small rural community named Pittsworth which is located 30 minutes west of Toowoomba and about 2 hours west of Brisbane, Qld. It is a very strong poultry community with a large amount of breeders, exhibitors, backyard enthusiasts as well as a very strong commercial poultry industry.
