Welcome to the Barastoc Naturals range, this range is based on the same sound nutritional expertise as the Barastoc Essentials range, but tailored to give flexibility and natural features to your backyard feeding regime. Chickens make great pets and can provide the household with a plentiful, nutritious supply of eggs but they also do so much more. Examples of this include chicken manure being a great source of fertiliser, Bedding material for mulch, rodent and pest control and reusing food scraps to name a few, this all helps offer a bountiful supply of choice in a free-range environment all helping to decrease wastage and help rejuvenate our backyards. Barastoc has therefore designed the naturals range to provide everything you want and nothing you don’t. Our goal is to compliment your own lifestyle and preferences by offering you the tools to choose what your chickens eat without compromising their health or wellbeing.
Barastoc Darling Downs is a nutritious, balanced and vegetarian layer feed designed to be fed from point of lay. Darling downs is also named after the rich farming region on the west slopes of the Great Dividing Range of southern Queensland. The Darling Downs area is known for its dryland summer crops, in particularly sorghum, cotton and pulses. Therefore one of the stand out features of this feed is the local, Australian sourced ingredients and the distinctive sorghum and sunflower seeds used.
Amongst the assorted whole and cracked grains and seed you will also soon see our new and improved Multi Boost™ pellet. This nutrient dense pellet contains all the necessary elements that are essential for a naturally healthy flock. Multi Boost ensures they are getting a well-balanced ration acting to help boost immune function, improve digestive health and egg production. Most vitamins and minerals are essential to chickens and therefore need to be included in their diet continuously. The 12 key vitamins and 9 minerals found in the Multi Boost™ pellet will not only support their health and wellbeing, but give them the boost they need when their demand increases in times of stress, change in climate, health challenges or growth.
Barastoc Grains & Greens is our superior layer feed in the Naturals Range with higher nutritional values to provide your flock with all the essential nutrients they need to thrive. It also contains an elevated level of vitamin and minerals aiding metabolic function and prevention of deficiencies and disease to ensure your flocks longevity. We have also enriched this feed specifically with the addition of Lucerne meal to be visually engaging and nutritious. Lucerne meal is not only a great functional fibre source aiding gizzard functioning but is also high in protein, calcium and is a natural source of Xanthophylls (yellow pigments) assisting as a natural yolk pigmentor.
Barastoc Mixed Flock is tailored to suit a mixed flock of multiple species within your home flock. If you have chickens and few ducks or turkeys, the higher nutrient density, in particular protein, will meet the requirements of each bird regardless of species. In flocks where there is competition for feed, the higher nutrient levels will ensure chickens are still getting enough protein every day. Presenting as a short cut pellet it equally suits natural foraging behaviour and supports maintenance and everyday functions whilst deterring wastage and spoilage of feed. This feed is also medication free, nutritionally balanced and developed to be a versatile, safe feed when used in your mature flock.
