Barastoc Poultry at the Royal Adelaide Show 2018
Barastoc Poultry was proud to be a major sponsor of the Royal Adelaide Show’s Poultry & Pigeon Pavilion in 2018.
The Royal Adelaide Show is South Australia’s longest-running event, with the first Show held in 1840. The Show is all about bringing the country to the city, and raising the awareness of the importance of our State’s primary industries. The Show also offers great value for the event attendees with many free activities on offer.
There were over 60 different competitions taking place at The Show, 18 of which were for Poultry, and there were 32,043 entries. It is estimated over 470,000 people attended The Show over ten days.
One competitor, Mary Scruby, won in several classes.
She won First in;
Class 287 – Bantam, Rose Comb, any other standard colour, hen or pullet,
Class 397 – Bantam, Belgian, Barbu d’Uccle, mottled any colour, hen
Class 409 – Bantam, Rhode Island, red, hen
Class 441 – Bantam, Plymouth Rock, dark barred, pullet
Class 461 – Bantam, Ancona, hen
